The apartment is near the corner of Consejo de Ciento and Independencia, just below Aragon. It is the antique center of Barcelona with incredible buys and places to discover. The neighborhood is a middle-class Catalan neighborhood with many amenities. On the street, there are three green grocers, a bread shop, a pastry shop, a good butcher, a newsstand, and a barber. An excellent restaurant is about a ten-minute walk. |

The apartment is three blocks from two pretty large supermarkets (Valencia & Dos de Mayo or Aragon & Castijellos), three blocks to the Clot outdoor market (excellent!) and four blocks from the Glorias Mall (Centro Comercial de Glorias) with a huge Continental and all types of shops. It is also two blocks from the Flea Market, a 15-minute walk to the Sagrada Familia Cathedral and a 20-minute walk to the National Theater. It is about a 20-minute walk to the beach and to the Olympic Port with excellent restaurants. There is also a fully equipped community gym with an Olympic size pool right around the corner. The apartment is about four blocks from the Clot Metro/Renfe train station, and two and a half blocks from the Encants station. There are also several bus lines within a three block area that run day and night. The Clot subway station is five stops from Plaza Catalunya. The Clot Renfe Station services trains to the north and south of Barcelona, including a 20 minute ride to Sitges. It's about a thirty-minute walk to the beach and seaside restaurants. In addition to using busses and the subway to get around town, there are a number of metered taxi's that come by on a regular basis. It's about a 25-minute taxi ride from the Barcelona airport to the apartment. If you have a car or motorcycle, parking is available on the street. There is also a 24-hour garage about one block away.
